What to expect
Your journey leaves the palm trees of Marrakech and ascends into the High Atlas via the lush Zat and Ourika foothills. Passing terraced Berber walnut villages and roadside pottery stalls, the road climbs dramatic switchbacks up to the summit of the Col du Tizi n’Tichka at 2,260 meters elevation. Dropping down into the rain-shadow of the southern slopes, the scenery transforms into stark ochre canyons, leading directly past the iconic clay towers of Ksar Ait Benhaddou into the cinematic city of Ouarzazate.

Can we visit Ait Benhaddou on the way without an extra charge?
Yes! Simply select the sightseeing option or inform your driver. We are delighted to wait while you explore the UNESCO ksar and take photos before continuing to Ouarzazate.
What happens in winter if there is snow on the pass?
Moroccan highway authorities operate active snow-clearing machinery on the Tizi n’Tichka pass to ensure it remains open. In rare severe weather events, our dispatch team monitors road closures in real time and coordinates your departure timing accordingly.
